FIND A PROGRAM

To teach in Oregon's K-12 public schools, you'll need to complete a teacher preparation program approved by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC). These programs are housed within the state's officially recognized Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs), and they're the only programs that qualify you for an Oregon Preliminary Teaching License.

Oregon currently has 15 TSPC-approved EPPs, spanning public universities and private colleges and universities across the state. Each institution brings its own strengths, focus areas, and program formats, but all are nationally accredited and designed to prepare you for success in Oregon's PreK-12 classrooms.

Depending on where you are in your education journey, you may pursue a traditional undergraduate degree in education, a post-baccalaureate or Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, or a non-traditional degree completion pathway. Program availability varies by institution, so we encourage you to explore the options below and connect directly with the schools that interest you.
